The first unit is called “Culture and Cultural Identity” I saw a lot of
interesting things and I do a lot of assignments. In addition, I learned a lot
of culture, racism etc… However, I want to explain more about my feelings and
what I learned in this unit;
1)
I learned a lot of new words that was in the readings,
but the most I remember is culture shock I think I remember this because I
suffer when I came to U.S.A. Mainstream, high, folk, ethnocentrism this words
are the most I like, but are several more. I did a several assignments like “Introduction to Culture”
that is about the main idea of culture here I learned the 4 characteristics of
culture; I do the iceberg that is 3 main parts; formal, informal and technical
with this a learned and I understand why sometimes just I cannot explained the
culture and my own one too, I do the things and that is. One of the assignments that I enjoyed more because was funny
and entreating was the ‘Culture Shock Resources’ here we look at 5 different
links the one I love more was ‘American are notstupid’. To say why, is simple
just because what the people said and make me think that maybe I am the same
because some question I did not.
I read a history in the book that was not so bad, but not too much god
at all. Finally, the last assignment was to look in a web about race I learned
and it was interesting but the truth was, that was a little boring and I don’t
learn when is like that. I like more the visual way to learn.
2)
Aha moment was when I saw the iceberg. I was like
oh wow, now I understand a lot of things. Why sometimes the Americas do things
differently.
3)
I AM AN ETHICAL RELATIVISM PERSON “AND”.
4)
I learned to do not discriminated the people for color
or judge. The same way for how they look or how they do different things. It
will be very useful all the things a learned because I will apply in my
day-life.
