Class Refelction

Class Reflection

The class was awesome. The truth is that I never waited the kind of class I had. When, I took the class was only for the credits and because my adviser told me to take it for the transfer. However, I really liked the class was so entertained and I learned a lot of things about the where I live. The class was not just read and boring stuff. I know that was a lot of assignments, but the truth is that I liked that because made me learned new things and I really enjoyed did it the homework.  I would take the class again because everything in the class I enjoyed. I saw how  pop culture is surround us and I learned more about the pop culture in U.S.A.

                            Globalization vs. Americanization

I read Globalization vs. Americanization" and I love the topic, it was very interesting the author opinion. Andrew Lam is an editor New America Media and a commentator for NPR's All things Considered. In the article " Globalization vs Americanization", by Andrew Lam. Americanization. He said the culture influences each other and the culture has different point of view. he argued that we are now seeing an Americanization of the world like eating at McDonald's, listing to Madonna, and shopping at mega malls. It means globalization by the U.S. had affected many people in the world. He stated his opinion that globalization is not the same as Americanization.  When he was child, he thought nationality and allegiance were very important. Lam used to live in Vietnam, and he was raised during the Vietnam War. Later, the war ended, his family and him moved to America and learned something new.  He thought his duty was to protect of Vietnam and sacred rice fields and rivers. However, After the Vietnam War, he could get a chance of changing his mind by fleeing overseas to live America. He became a journalist and writer. He can travel between East Asia and America, so he could have various experiences. The author examined that many countries like China and France that  are no longer fantasies, but they look the same because of Americanization was spread over those countries. For example, in those countries we can see many signs of McDonald all over the places. In addition, he talked about the technology of communication which is now very easy for people around the world to contact each other. The author learned instead to hear others and respect differences and understanding each other country’s culture. He saw the world with its many dimensions simultaneously.
