Refelction Letter For Unit 4

                                     Reflection for Unit 4

1)Well unit 4 was unique for me. I think that the unit 4 is the unit that i liked most. It have a lot of difficult assignments and readings, but was one of my favorite because this unit in particular made think hard and learned different interesting things. This unit was not just do thinks, but was to think more i think so this is why this unit is my favorite unit so far. I did different assignments, all different one was a little difficult, but the one that was more difficult for me was the song presentation. However was the one that i liked more, I learned with the presentation different songs, the meaning of the songs and i learned too that the videos show one thing and the song other thing. The same happened with the assignment of Lady Gaga, i saw a video that i really learned that she just sell the imagine because the lyrics of the song said one thing and the video show other thing like how the videos have race, adds, gender etc.. involved. With this 2 particular assignments "Lady Gaga and the Song presentation"  i learned that we need to analyzed the content of the video and listen the lyrics not just see it. I need to have my one particular critique.

I read a article called "Same Old Song" with this article i learned how the music that was years ago famous  born again. The same music like the rap that shock the parents is shocking the parents of young people again like Eminen is doing songs about drugs, ganster etc.. is music that in the 60s exist, but is making shock the parents again. We saw a video and read a lot of articles about the rap and well a learned a lot because i did not imagine that the Rap have this kind of history. I learned that the Rap began from the African people the slaves who travel to U.S.A. The Rap and Hip Hop, began in the big cities like New York that began in the south side the poor one in the Bronx. The began to show in the subway the graffiti and so on. I learned too that MTV was the pioneer of the Rap and just show black people after big trying i learned that Micheal Jackson his firts show in the t.v was in MTV.

I saw too in the internet the top 40 in that moment, almost i knew all the singers were a famous the mainstream the people how have "money" to make famous. In the contrary, i learned other thing for saw the NPR web i saw that good musicians with good music that were not famous show in a different way. It was the kind of music that is not mainstream. Finally, i learned the different genres that the music have. i learned that it have the typical genre that all people listen "mainstream" and the genres that shock the people or is not so famous.

              2) Well, all this unit was an aha moment because when i read the Rap resources i understand why almost all the rap singers were black. I understand too, why the famous singer are famous because is a mainstream music.

        3)  A bumper sticker about my knowledge for unit 4 " Master Knowledge in music"

      4)  I think that i learned too much things about music but one thing that i learned more was the Rap and now i can make a debate with  people who said something wrong about it.

What I learned from the rap resources. " Music Unit"

                                                           Rap and Hip Hop

I learned a lot reading and seeing the links about Rap and Hip Hop.  First at all, I did not imagine that the rap have that kind of history. With the all links i read an saw i learned that the rap began from the slaves from Africa. I learned too that the rap was from the hip hop and began in New York. However, i want to explained with more details the sources that was more interesting for me. The one called "To The Academic" is an article, this was very interesting how the teacher want to involved with their students about the hip hop and how he want that the other teachers do the same. He explained that the hip hop is not only gangster and so on, but better if he show in a better way with he intellectual way. In "The History of the Rap" is talking about how star it said that in the 50s started with the rock and roll  and later star the rap that was for slaves from Africa that they came like slaves later from jamaican people make their mix and made the hip hop . One sentences said that the rap is the recinting of the rhymes to the best of music. it is a form of expression that find deep. It said too that the rap is just violence and the lyrics just contained sex and drugs, like the beginner Ghetto. The story of Rap 2 is really long, but i learned that the Rap was popular in the poor side of New York the Bronx it was popular with the Djs in the parties the Rap made really fast famous because was cheap to do it and offered unlimited challenges. There were no real rules, except to be original. One could make up a rap about an X man or about the Dj that was in the party. It said too, that the rap do not change it still famous for the same old reasons. It talk about the hip hop too, it was the culture from which the rap emerged, graffiti, break dance,dj emeceeing, lifestyle with its own language. It said that in the early days of the hip hop were the break dance for challenger each other. The griots was the black radio in the 70s and the hip hop and rap were played together cultural and musical preserver. It said too that the Martin Luther King, said in the black radio something that was good the hip hop. Finally, in the "History of Rap 3" was a video the old famous beginners of the rap were together at the beginning they explained the history of the bronx the south side of New York, was burn and began to be really cheap the all black people started to live in that side. The mix of the African began to do the rap. The graffiti started to show in the train or subways from the south side and began made famous.

I
I really love this picture how the trains looked in the 70s in New York.I liked more that now just adds.
